Purpose of our Privacy Statement

Under the General Data Protection Regulation, we are required to explain to you why we ask for personal data, how we intend to use the information you provide and whether we will share this with anyone else.

The information we collect

  • When you purchase an item from the shop: we keep your name, delivery address, billing address and email address, product selections and payment information you give us - plus any other details you give us to complete the purchase 

 

  • All shop purchases undertaken on-line are subject to the PayPal Privacy policy which you can read in full here

 

  • When we deliver a project or training, we keep names, postal addresses and email addresses you give us, billing address, correspondence sent to you, or received from you, payment details, evaluation and feedback given to us with consent, plus any other details you provide to us to carry out the agreed work

 

  • When you register on a mailing list we keep your name and email address solely for the purpose of providing information about JABADAO and it's work.  You may Unsubscribe at any time - email us at info@jabadao.org to remove your name from the list

 

How we collect personal information

   Information you give us directly

  • buying products from the website Shop

  • competing Contracts/Briefing Sheets for Projects and Training

  • signing up to a Newsletter and/or providing details to receive course handouts

  • communicating with us by phone, email or letter

  • filling in feedback forms at events

  • talking to us about our work at events telling us what you think about what we do

  • allowing us to gather film and photographs at events 

 

Via our website

  • when you visit our website  we collect technical information including the internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer or device to the internet, as well as information about your visit to the website

What we use it for

Only relevant members of staff will access the information you provide to us.

 

We use this information to:

  • sell you products and services and provide information you have asked for

  • allow you to purchase and receive goods and services

  • administer payments

  • send you newsletters, updates, course handouts and other information

  • organise and run projects and events

  • evaluate and improve our work

  • manage our website, including data analysis of usage

  • deal with enquiries and/or complaints

  • carry out our legal obligations 

  • improve what we do

  • tell funders about our work

  • inspire others to get involved

Communicating with you

   Essential

  • we will send order confirmations, invoices and emails connected to shop purchases, events, training and projects

 

   Other

  • we will send newsletters, blogs and handouts if you request them, or if we think information may be of interest to you because you have been in touch with JABADAO. We will stop sending information as soon as you ask us to

  • we will communicate through Facebook and Twitter if you sign up

What we share

JABADAO will not sell or pass on your information to any other organisations, other than those involved in supplying goods and services 

 

We use service providers where it is necessary to enable us to manage the company. These may share your information in order to be able to carry out their work. We use the following service providers who are acting as approved information processors on our behalf. They are  required to comply with UK information protection laws and ensure they have the appropriate controls in place to protect the security of your information.   • payment manager to fulfil your shop order: Paypal and Wix

  • website hosting: Wix

  • processing payment through Wix: Adyen

  • processing payments through Stripe 

  • cloud storage: iCloud 

 

Transmitting information over the internet is generally not completely secure, and we can’t guarantee the security of your data. However, we have robust procedures in place to keep your data secure once we receive it.

How long we keep your information

In general, we remove or securely destroy your data seven years after the year in which it was collected. However, if you exercise your right of erasure, we will remove it from our records when you ask us to.

Requesting details of the information we hold

Your rights

In relation to the information which we hold about you, you are entitled to:

• ask us for access to the information

• ask us to rectify the information where it is inaccurate or is incomplete

• ask us to erase the information and take steps to ask others who we have shared your information with to also erase it

• ask us to limit what we do with your information

• object to our use of your information and ask us to stop that use

• instruct us to provide you with the information we hold about you in a structured and commonly used format or transmit that information directly to another organisation

Our obligations to comply with the above rights are subject to certain exemptions.

Where we are using your information because you have provided your consent to that use, you are entitled to withdraw your consent at any time. The lawfulness of our use of your information before consent was withdrawn is not affected.
