Who are courses and events for?
Courses and events are designed for people working across education, health, social care and community settings. They are all very practical – the best way to learn about movement is by moving – but none of our courses require previous experience of movement work.

Alongside practical work courses offer a mixture of discussion, time for questions, video, photos and sharing ideas with colleagues. Where applicable, courses make links with existing practice and targets in education, health and social care settings. Printed handouts are provided where the course has a theoretical base. Please bring paper and a pen if you wish to make your own notes.

Access
All venues are fully accessible.

Refreshments at courses and events
The price of all courses and events run by JABADAO includes a light buffet lunch and tea and coffee throughout the day. Lunch will always include plenty of vegetarian options. Please let us know if you have other requirements.

What to wear
All courses include movement some of which may be on the floor depending on the kind of course you are coming to. We recommend comfortable trousers that are not too tight and layers that you can take off and put on, on top – so that you are comfortable during both movement and sitting activities.

What to bring
If you like taking notes of your own, bring a notebook and pen. However, we provide handouts so you don’t have to take notes if you’d rather not.

You might like to bring a cushion, sleeping bag or even a single duvet to ensure maximum comfort sitting on the floor – especially for Developmental Movement Play courses. We try to do away with chairs as much as possible (except for Sociable Exercise courses or others preparing to work with physically frail older people) and invite participants to get as comfortable as possible on the floor. We have a variety of ‘snuggly’ bits and pieces but we find you can never have enough.
